Steve General Contractor, Inc., located south of Rochester in Caledonia, NY, is one oldest and largest family owned minority construction companies in the East. Established in the early 1960's by Stephen Vasciannie Sr., a Jamaican immigrant, the company incorporated in 1973 and has serviced Upstate New York for over 4 decades.

The company started off as primarily a masonry and concrete subcontractor and quickly evolved into a full scope general contractor working around the state at VA and other Federal and State facilities. The mainstay of the company has been public works with an emphasis on additions and renovations of schools, colleges and municipal buildings.

Over the past decade the company experienced substantial growth spurts and was recognized by the Rochester Top 100 companies (3) times ultimately reaching number 15 on its list in 2015. The company is still family owned and is directed by majority owner and president, David Vasciannie.
