Kennedy Mechanical Plumbing & Heating, Inc. was founded in 1978 by Richard and Ann Cassidy. The original name of the company was Cassidy Plumbing & Heating, Inc. Richard and Ann started with one station wagon and operated the business from their home on Woody lane in Penfield, NY. In 1979, Richard bought his first service van and hired his first employee, Guy Slack. Within one year they had outgrown the family garage. That same year they found a home with five acres and a barn on Browncroft Boulevard in Penfield and moved the family and the business. The business flourished at this location from 1979 to 1990 by building a reputation for quality reliable service at a fair price. To facilitate further expansion in 1990, the business moved to our current location at 11 Comfort Street in the City of Rochester. This same year Richard and Ann Started a second company called Cassidy Mechanical Corporation to diversify the company into larger commercial and industrial projects. In 1995, Richard and Ann accepted an offer to sell Cassidy Plumbing & Heating to Chemed Corporation, the parent company of Roto Rooter. The next year they sold their interest in Cassidy Mechanical Corporation to their children, Stephen and Diane, plus long time employees Guy Slack, Darren Englert and Brian Blackburn. At this time the new owners changed the name to Kennedy Mechanical Plumbing & Heating, Inc. Today, thanks to the hard work of all of our current and former employees, Kennedy is a large and well-respected Mechanical Contractor with over 100 employees and a diverse clientele.
